FAQ
-
How do we get started?
It all starts with an initial consultation! Head over to our contact page and fill out the form. Afterwards, our administrative assistant will reach out via email to schedule your first session with Martin.
-
What methods do you use?
With a solid foundation in Psychology, Tango Dog Training employs a science-based approach to dog training. This methodology is grounded in Pavlovian conditioning, Thorndike’s Law of Effect, and B.F. Skinner’s four quadrants of operant conditioning, as well as other principles and techniques of behavior modification.
-
How many sessions do I need to achieve my goals?
This will depend on your training plan. Some behaviors require more time and practice while others can be resolved after just a few sessions. Training packages are available in 5 session or 8 session options.
-
What do I bring to my first appointment?
Bring yourself, your pup, and your usual walking gear to your first session with Martin. You may also bring your usual treats, family members, and other equipment you utilize with your puppy or dog.
-
Who can come to the session?
We encourage all members of the family to learn about your dog’s behaviors. If you have more than one person with you, everyone can have a chance to practice 1:1 with your dog during the sessions. For younger members under 18, a guardian or parent must be present for the session.
-
How can I pay for my session?
Tango Dog Training accepts cash, check, and Zelle as forms of payment.
-
Do you have certifications?
Martin Bergamaschi is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. Martin and Lindsey have a Bachelor’s of Science in Canine Studies from Bergin University of Canine Studies.
-
When can we start training?/Is my dog too old for training?
There is no age too young or too old for training and behavior modification! We will work with you to help you reach your goals regardless of the age of your puppy or dog.
Puppies as early as 8 weeks old can participate in in-home and online training sessions. Once puppies are fully vaccinated, they can participate in sessions that will take place in public parks. Please inquire for age requirements for the stay and train program.
-
Can you help me find the right dog or puppy for my family?
Absolutely! With a network of trainers, breeders, rescues and shelters, we can help you find the right fit for your family!
